I have wanted to pursue architecture since I took a STEM elective in the 8th grade. This is where I learned about the different types of engineering. However, I wanted to find a career that would also incorporate my love for art, having tried an array of artistic outlets such as sketching, painting, ceramics, music, theatre, animation, photography, and graphic design.

Architecture has the perfect combination of structural and artist elements in the design process and outcome. In high school, I took Architecture classes and was a member of our school district’s Skills USA Architecture Chapter. I was the treasurer, then President of this chapter, who’s members competed in, and won multiple design competitions individually and as a group. This leadership role helped me understand the importance of teamwork and gave me the confidence to pursue things even bigger and better.
