#Exploring NYC with Karen Guetat
.
Being in the greatest city, I believe New York has a way of inspiring anyone. There are so many things to discover!

Time Management.
When I first started the 5-year program, Architecture was my life. Back to back all-nighters, 6 pack of red bulls, locked down in studio staring at 3 screens. Once I understood that my personality required more explorations and not just “ONE” passion, I started walking around during all-nighters to give myself a break and realized that I absolutely loved it. The people you meet, the new places you find...losing yourself became fun. Therefore, I turned it into a hobby. Exploring more and more what this beautiful city has to offer. Basically, taking those breaks while studying is what kept me balanced in my thoughts and sometimes even gain inspiration for my work.

Resources.
I’ll do some digging on the internet trying to find hidden gems of NY and go seek them out. My friends often want to try new things which makes for good exploration partners.

Architecture Student Organizations - I haven’t worked for any organization but I have been in clubs at my school. AIAS and NOMAS both helped me come out of my bubble and explore more. I even went to their conferences in NY and Toronto which were both incredible adventures.
