Power Through Accessibility
A Research Vessel Car inside New York City Hall.
For my final design, I focused specifically on City Hall and creating accessibility throughout the structure. With post 9/11, the site has become inaccessible with many pedestrian barriers surrounding the landmark. I proposed to bring the Research Vessel Car inside City Hall that would enter the governor's room in a way that would respect the structure's façade. While also equipping the vessel with an assembled desk and chair to signify the presidential desk in the governor's room. Ending its course by circulating around the rotunda that recreates the pathway that visitors took when viewing President Lincoln's body.
